How To Manage Profiles On the Z-Box Hub

Profiles are a set of rules or actions pertaining to devices, climate zones, alarms, or scenes that can be activated quickly by the user or a scene. 

There are four default profiles which you can customize to your preferences (Home, Away, Vacation, Night) but you can add more if you want to. You can edit the profile names as well as add or delete profiles. Note that you can’t delete the Home profile as you are required to have at least one active profile at a time. 
 

For example, you can set your Vacation profile to cycle the lights on and off throughout the home on a schedule to simulate a presence in the home. You can set the Night profile to turn off the interior lights and activate your outdoor security lighting, or create a Morning profile to slowly turn on the lights or activate your smart plug to start the coffee brewing. 

 

ACCESSING PROFILES:

1. From the sidebar navigation menu of the Z-Box web interface, go to Settings by clicking on the gear icon.

 

 

2. You will be redirected to the Devices menu. Click on Profiles.

 

 

3. From this menu, you can:

  • Configure current profiles
  • Edit profile name and icons
  • Add new profiles
  • Delete existing profiles

 

TO CONFIGURE THE CURRENT PROFILE:

1. From the Profile setting menu, define how selected devices, scenes, or zones should work by changing the states in the selection box.

 

 

2. The action will be automatically saved and the profile will be updated,

Note: If you don’t change the default setting, the device/scene/zone will be left out of the profile configuration.

 

 

TO EDIT THE PROFILE NAME AND ICON:

 

1. From the Profile setting menu, click on the ‘...’ icon next to the profile name and click on Edit.

 

 

2. Customize the Profile name or/and the Profile icon. Click Save when done.

 

 

TO CREATE A NEW PROFILE:

1. From the Profile setting menu, click on Add Profile.

 

 

2. Name the new profile, select the Profile icon,  and if needed select another profile to copy the settings from. Once done, click Add.

 

 

3. The new profile will be added. Next, you can customize the profile.

 

 

TO DELETE A PROFILE:

1. From the Profile setting menu, click on the ‘...’ icon next to the profile name and click on Delete.

 

 

2. Click Delete again to confirm the action, or Cancel to exit the delete menu.

 

 

3. The profile will be removed from your profile menu. Note that the Home Profile cannot be removed.

 

ACTIVATING PROFILES MANUALLY:

1. From the Z-Box web interface, click on the name/icon of the current profile.

 

 

2. Select a new profile from the dropdown menu.

 

 

3. The profile will be updated, and all the devices will change their state as per the profile settings.
